DURTY DOGS - GLASGOW’S BEST HOTDOGS & A LOCATION DOCKYARD SHOOT

I recently had the opportunity to work on a commissioned project for Durty Dogs, a brand owned by Heather, who is also the proprietor of Fetch Catering based in Glasgow UK.

The task assigned to me was to not only photograph their delectable food but also capture some captivating lifestyle images that would represent the essence of the brand.

Durty Dogs is situated in The Dockyard Social, a vibrant location on the west side of Glasgow. It is a haven for food enthusiasts, offering a diverse range of food stands that serve up innovative flavours and dishes.

To ensure that we captured the essence of the brand, the shoot was divided into two distinct parts. The first part focused solely on showcasing the mouthwatering food items offered by Durty Dogs, while the second part aimed to capture the vibrant and lively atmosphere that defines the brand.

In order to bring out the best in the hot dogs, careful attention was given to composition and lighting. Since The Dockyard Social lacks walls, I came prepared with reflectors and a total of two lights to create the perfect lighting setup. The 300w strobe and speedlight that I carried with me proved to be invaluable tools for achieving the desired results. For the food shots, we opted for a light pink background to enhance the visual appeal, while for the lifestyle images, we played with the ambient atmosphere to create a captivating and authentic representation of the brand.
